DB Schenker launches its third logistics hub in Dubai South

The global provider of supply chain management and logistics solutions, DB Schenker launches logistic hub in Dubai South’s Logistics District, as part of its planned expansion strategy to strengthen the logistics industry and meet the evolving needs of its customers in the Middle East.

Why does it matter?

The solar system fitted to the new facility’s rooftop will cover the full energy demand of both the 74,000 square metres of warehouse space and 5,000 square metres of office buildings, saving 4,000 tonnes of C02 emissions annually.

Furthermore, the centre will provide a sustainable ecosystem for bonded and non-bonded operations and an end-to-end integrated suite of goods and customised services for customers.

The temperature-controlled facility features 90,000 Euro pallets to provide warehousing solutions for different industries, from dangerous-goods storage to B2C e-commerce delivery services, leveraging its enhanced connectivity to land, sea, and air freight transportation modes.

Sustained growth

According to Mohsen Ahmad, the CEO of Dubai South’S Logistics District, DB Schenker’s new facility will strengthen the Logistics District’S entire ecosystem, thanks to its innovative solutions and best sustainable practices, all of which are a testament to its progressive business strategy.”DB Schenker has facilitated the market entry of many international firms, enabling them to expand their presence across the Middle East and Africa regions. Over the past 7 years, the company’s total assets of operated logistics centres grew from 40,000 to 325,000 square metres.
